Converse College entrepreneurship

To request course information, please complete this form. You may request information from just one program, or several.

Before making decisions about your future, compare programs carefully. Think about what career is best suited for you, and where you want to study. Request more information now.

By taking Converse College entrepreneurship, you may be able to complete your studies in fewer semesters, thus reducing your tuition cost. Which degrees will give you the best chances of landing a job after you graduate? Some students select a major because it teaches them practical skills that are valuable in the workplace. Other students choose their major because they love the subject. The most popular college major is business, split equally between men and women. On the other hand, men make up the majority of computer science and engineering majors. Computer science majors study topics ranging from software development to robotics and game design. Graduates in these fields typically tend to be very well-paid. On the list of women’s popular majors, education, English and liberal arts dominate.

Graduates of online degree programs may go on to attend graduate school, and become successful professionals. Distance education reduces the need for high-priced, physical course textbooks. Many textbooks are now available as e-books on Kindle, or as shareware. Online education can open up the opportunity to take difficult courses that won't show up on your transcript, if you so choose. Alternatively, you can complete additional credits for a grade.

Doing business online is a great option to supplement your income while still a student. By registering a domain name, pointing the name servers to your hosting company, then building an active website via a WordPress template, you're in the game. Similar to magazine page layout, website design success is governed by two factors, visitor traffic and online sales conversions. There are many search engines from which you can buy pay-per-click advertising, with Google Adwords being the most popular.

Online Courses - MOOCs

Converse College pagenameThere are over 6,500 accredited colleges and universities in the United States, which collectively enroll over 15 million students, granting two million bachelors degrees a year. Pursue your career interests, not high-paying starting salaries, and your overall job earnings will reflect the enthusiasm that you bring to your work, increasing over time as you gain business experience. If you focus your prospective degree choice on salary alone, there is the risk that you may suffer early signs of burnout, and be forced to change careers.

Technical training programs are a low-cost alternative to attending college, and you might end up earning a lot of money as a highly-skilled, technical consultant, or by starting your own small business. Massive Open Online Courses are known as MOOCs, and offer a variety of learning platforms, utilizing cloud-based software and Google apps.

An online degree may be just as marketable as a college degree earned on campus. Udemy online learning, a site which allows anyone to build (or take) online courses, is a new startup with backing from the founders of Groupon. Khan Academy now offers over 3,900 micro-lectures available via YouTube. Coursera, another online-learning software platform, has millions of enrolled students around the world. Through MIT Open Courseware online classes, educators can improve development of their curricula, making their instruction more effective.

Business Administration

Growing fields that you can major in include computer programming, health care, and business administration. As the economy recovers, companies tend to hire technical staff first. Whether an online business or a real world storefront, owning your own business can be a pathway to success. You'll need some starting capital to survive your first year in business, typically relying on savings equal to six months of rent. Write a business plan that lists your objective as well as a total of your anticipated start-up costs. Then, double that estimate, and you'll get an idea of how much money you'd need to have a chance of starting your own business.

Your business plan is a snapshot of your business profile and financial goals. Your company description provides information on what you do, what differentiates your business from others, and the markets your business serves. Before launching your business, it is essential for you to research your business industry, market and competitors. If you need funding, providing financial projections to back up your request is critical. Please visit the Small Business Administration website, to find more information about starting a business.

Business & Medical Job Listings

Although most jobs which pay six-figure salaries require a college degree, technical fields offer high salaries based more on ability than which school you graduated from. Students will impress future bosses more with an impressive portfolio than with an advanced degree, so practice your skills as a consultant for local companies. Candidates with prior industry experience are preferred by interviewers, so you resume must show a clear pattern of success over time, based on numeric results and personal achievements.

Students will receive classroom instruction and clinical training in a hospital setting. A 4-year BSN program allows students to further specialize in the areas of pediatrics, geriatrics and mental health. After completing your nursing education, you must be licensed by the state in which you'll be practicing, given that state boards of nursing each have specific certification requirements.
